Argrow's House Part-Time Mental Health Counselor

Overview

Under the general supervision of the Director of the non-profit, Argrow’s House of Healing and Hope, this position will provide mental health assessment, intervention, and consultation to clients identified; plans treatment modalities, coordinates treatment plans, monitor, and evaluate. Clients will consist of the women of Argrow’s House and their families who are survivors of violence. Will provide on call and crisis intervention as needed.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates competence in the skills, (processes, procedures, and equipment) necessary to carry out assigned duties as identified below. 

Demonstrated competence in recognizing and responding to patients physical, mental, emotional and developmental needs. Should be evaluated in relation to the patient populations served as appropriate for each responsibility. 

Provides assessment and trauma-informed care to women and children who have experienced trauma. 

Develop service plans and conduct reviews as needed throughout the duration of treatment.

Bachelor’s and/or Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field. 

Two years experience in a community mental health setting. 

Experience with survivors of violence.

Holds one of the current licensures from the Iowa Department of Professional Regulations:  LMSW, LISW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT or related license. (Or willing to complete credential within first 6 months of employment.)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Demonstrates an ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to a range of client situations; has the ability to accurately assess and diagnose; can develop treatment plans and interventions with clients; proficiency in providing clinical supervision; possesses interpersonal skills, professional attitude and understands the ethical standards of behavioral healthcare.

Able to interpret rules and regulations.

Possesses good written and oral communication skills. Has the ability to plan and organize their work.

Computer literacy: Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access) and familiarity with the internet and email communications. 

$20.00/hr

Argrow’s House Part-Time Product Development Specialist

Overview

The Product Specialist for Argrow’s House will complete the following tasks:

Lead in the creation of bath balms, soap, lotion, lip balm, body butter, essential oil blend, shower gel, and more.

Lead in teaching bath balm classes during bath balm party events with children and women.

Assist with vendor events and in person product sales events.

Participation in at least one monthly therapeutic service through Argrow’s Holistic Care program.

$13/hr
